The best home maintenance apps for Android
There are only a handful of apps on Google Play built specifically to keep track of home maintenance, and none of them has more than a few hundred ratings. Here is what each one is, what it costs, and what its own users complain about — including the one we make.
Short answer
For a full home-management binder — inventory, documents, receipts — Homer is the most complete, and the most installed. For a free, guided maintenance list, Dwellin is the usual pick, if you don’t mind signing up with your details. Homer: The Home Management App

Homer is the broadest app here: it aims to hold everything about a home — rooms, items with brands and serial numbers, documents and receipts — alongside maintenance tasks. If you want one place for the house’s paperwork as well as its upkeep, it is the most complete option on Android.
Reviewers mention: needing an account, crashes while adding rooms, lost data, and paying to set recurring reminders (1–2★ reviews, 2023–2025).
Dwellin: easy home maintenance

Dwellin builds a maintenance list for your home and puts dates on it, with cost estimates. It is free to download with nothing to buy listed on Play, which makes it an easy first try.
Reviewers mention: being asked for a phone number or street address to sign up, and not being able to remove appliances it assumed the home has (1–2★ reviews, 2022–2026).
Housemindr: Home Maintenance

A reminder-focused maintenance app whose listing explicitly includes tenants and renters, shared households and apartments — useful if you don’t own a detached house.

Housed: Home Maintenance App

Housed focuses on the big systems — HVAC, boilers, water heaters. It had not been updated for more than a year and a half when we checked.
Reviewers mention: the appliance list being limited to a few heating, cooling and water-heater types, so a fridge filter or anything else can’t be tracked (2024–2025).
Gable: Home Maintenance (ours)

We built Gable around the complaints above. It starts from a curated library of 71 maintenance jobs and keeps only the ones that apply: three questions about your climate (hemisphere, freezing winters, a humid season) and a tick-list of what your house has — gutters, a furnace, a septic system — replace an address or a location permission. Every job says why it matters, how to do it and what skipping it costs. You get reminders before each window closes, a home-screen widget, and a log of what you did and paid, exportable as PDF or CSV. No account, and it works offline.
What it isn’t: a home inventory or document store like Homer, and it is written for houses — much of the library (gutters, roofs, septic, sump pumps) won’t apply to an apartment. It’s also a subscription, where Dwellin is free.

- You rent, or live in an apartment: Housemindr, whose listing is written for renters too.
- You want a plan for your house without handing over an account or address, and a log you can export: Gable.
Cleaning apps are a different thing
If you searched for a home maintenance app but mean weekly chores — vacuuming, bathrooms, laundry — the apps you want are cleaning schedulers such as Tody, Sweepy or BeTidy, which have far larger audiences on Google Play. The apps above are about the house itself: the furnace, the gutters, the roof, the water heater.
